Nebraska Graduated Driver Licensing Program
Nebraska’s GDL program starts with a Learner’s Permit (LPD) at age 15, which requires a licensed driver aged 21 or older to be in the front seat. The next stage is the Provisional Operator’s Permit (POP) at age 16, which has restrictions on unsupervised driving between midnight and 6 a.m. and passenger limits for the first six months.
Teens become eligible for a full, unrestricted Operator’s License after holding a POP for 12 months without accumulating three or more points on their driving record. The POP expires on the holder’s 18th birthday.
