Missouri GDL Program

Missouri’s GDL program has three stages for drivers under 21. It begins with a Learner’s Permit at age 15, which requires a licensed driver aged 21 or older in the front seat at all times. The next stage is the Intermediate License, available at age 16 after holding the permit for 182 days and completing 40 hours of supervised driving.

The Intermediate License has restrictions, including passenger limits for non-family members under 19 and a nighttime driving ban from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. These restrictions are lifted when the driver turns 18, and the license automatically becomes a Full, Unrestricted License.
