Drivers must be extra careful around pedestrians, who are the most vulnerable road users. You must stop for pedestrians in crosswalks. It is illegal to pass a car that has stopped at a crosswalk for a pedestrian. Be especially aware of blind pedestrians using a guide dog or a white cane tipped with red, and be sure to yield to them.
When passing a bicycle, you must give at least three feet of clearance. Always assume a motorcycle is a full-size vehicle and give it a full lane. Large trucks and buses have big blind spots on all sides, known as “No-Zones”. If you can’t see the driver in their mirror, they can’t see you, so avoid lingering in those spots.
