Parking on a Hill

When parking on a hill, turning your wheels correctly is essential to prevent your vehicle from rolling into traffic. When facing uphill with a curb, turn your wheels away from the curb (to the left); when facing downhill, turn them toward the curb (to the right).

If there is no curb when facing uphill, turn your wheels toward the side of the road (to the right). When facing downhill without a curb, also turn your wheels toward the side of the road. Always set your parking brake firmly.
