Penalties in Missouri
DWI penalties escalate with each offense. A first offense can result in up to a $500 fine and/or six months in jail, plus a 90-day license suspension. A second offense within five years can lead to a $1,000 fine, up to a year in jail, and a one-year license revocation.
Third and subsequent offenses are felonies with higher fines and longer jail sentences. License revocation for a third offense is for a minimum of ten years. Completing a Substance Awareness Traffic Offender Program (SATOP) is often required.
