Maximum Speed Limits in Missouri
When no speed limit is posted, default limits apply. These include 25 mph in business or residential districts, 55 mph on two-lane rural roads, and 70 mph on interstates. In active school zones, the speed limit is 20 mph.
It is also illegal to drive so slowly that you impede the normal flow of traffic. On interstate highways, you may not drive slower than 40 mph under normal conditions. Slower drivers should use the right lane.
