Idaho Speed Limits
Idaho’s “basic rule” law requires you to always drive at a speed that is “reasonable and prudent” for the current conditions, regardless of the posted limit. You must adjust your speed for factors like weather, visibility, traffic, and road surface.
Default speed limits when not posted are 20 mph in school zones, 35 mph in business/residential districts, 15 mph in public parks and alleys, 55 mph on highways, and up to 80 mph on interstates. Driving too slowly and impeding traffic is also illegal.
