Parking Rules
Safe parking requires bringing your vehicle to a complete stop in a legal spot, setting the parking brake, and turning off the engine. When parking on a hill, you must turn your wheels appropriately to prevent the vehicle from rolling into traffic; for example, turn the wheels toward the curb when facing downhill.
Parking is prohibited in specific “No Parking” zones, including within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, 30 feet of a stop sign, and 50 feet of a railroad crossing. Colored curbs indicate restrictions, such as red for no stopping and blue for accessible parking reserved for vehicles with valid disabled placards or plates. Violations can result in fines or towing.
