Tennessee License Renewal and Duplicates
A standard Class D license for individuals over 21 expires every eight years. You can often renew your license online, by mail, or in person, though your first Tennessee renewal must be done in-person to verify your documents. Renewal notices are typically sent out several weeks before the expiration date.
If your license is lost or stolen, you can obtain a duplicate online or in person for a fee. The replacement license will have the same expiration date as your original. The fee is $8 for the first duplicate and $12 for subsequent ones.
