Sharing the Road

Always be vigilant for vulnerable road users. You must yield the right-of-way to pedestrians at any marked or unmarked crosswalk. When passing a bicyclist, you must provide at least three feet of clearance and always check your blind spots for motorcycles and bicycles before turning or changing lanes.

Be extra cautious around large trucks and buses, as they have large blind spots known as “No-Zones.” If you can’t see the truck driver in their mirror, they can’t see you. Also, all traffic in both directions must stop for a school bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, unless on a divided highway.
