Yielding and Right-of-Way Rules
Right-of-way rules in Kansas are designed to facilitate smooth traffic flow and safety. Drivers must always yield to pedestrians in crosswalks and at intersections, even if the crosswalk is not marked. At uncontrolled intersections (those without signs or signals), you must yield to vehicles already in the intersection or to the vehicle on your right if you arrive simultaneously. Drivers entering a public roadway from a private driveway, alley, or building must stop and yield to all traffic on the main road.
Furthermore, you must immediately pull over to the right edge of the road and stop for any emergency vehicle approaching with flashing lights and sirens, remaining stopped until they have passed.
