Indiana DUI Laws
In Indiana, driving under the influence is known as Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OWI). It is illegal to operate a vehicle while impaired by alcohol, illegal drugs, or certain medications. A driver can be charged with OWI based on noticeable impairment or for exceeding the legal Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) limit.
The illegal BAC limit is 0.08% for drivers 21 and over, 0.02% for drivers under 21, and 0.04% for commercial vehicle operators.
