Georgia License Classes
Georgia’s Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) program has three main stages for new drivers. The Class CP instructional permit is for 15-year-olds and requires a licensed adult in the front seat. The Class D provisional license is for 16- and 17-year-olds who have held a permit for a year and comes with strict passenger and nighttime driving restrictions.
Adults 18 and older can apply for a full, unrestricted Class C license. For larger non-commercial vehicles like RVs, a Class E or F license is required, but you must first have a standard Class C license.
