Maximum Speed Limits in Connecticut
When no speed limit is posted, default statutory limits apply: 25 mph in business/residential areas, 20 mph in public parks, 15 mph in alleys, 55 mph on unposted highways, and 65 mph on interstates (which can be 70 mph on designated sections).
These are the maximum speeds allowed under ideal conditions. You must always obey the Basic Speed Law and reduce your speed when conditions require it.
