Application Process for Adults in Connecticut

Adults applying for a driver’s license must first obtain a learner’s permit and hold it for a minimum of 90 days. During this time, they must complete an 8-hour Safe Driving Practices course and always be accompanied by a licensed adult while driving.

Applicants must provide documents to prove their identity, legal presence, residency, and Social Security number. After meeting all requirements and completing the holding period, they can take the road test to earn their full license.
