Alaska Parking Rules
Always follow a safe parking procedure: come to a complete stop, set the parking brake, put the car in park (or gear), turn off the engine, and lock your doors. When parking on a hill, turn your wheels appropriately so the car will roll away from traffic if the brake fails.
Parking is always prohibited in areas like sidewalks, crosswalks, intersections, in front of driveways, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, and within 50 feet of a railroad crossing. Also pay attention to colored curbs, which indicate zones for loading, short-term parking, or no parking at all.
