Right-of-Way
Right-of-way rules determine who should proceed first to ensure safe traffic flow. At an uncontrolled intersection (with no signs or signals), the driver on the left must yield to the driver on the right. You must also always yield to pedestrians in crosswalks and emergency vehicles using lights and sirens by pulling over to the right.
When entering a roadway from a driveway or alley, you must stop and yield to all traffic and pedestrians on the road. At a four-way stop, the vehicle that arrives first has the right-of-way; if two vehicles arrive simultaneously, the driver on the left yields to the driver on the right.
