Parking Rules
Always check your surroundings, signal your intention, and ensure you are parked in a legal space. After parking, stop the engine, engage the parking brake, and lock your doors. When parking on a hill, turn your wheels appropriately: away from the curb when facing uphill, and toward the curb when facing downhill, to prevent your vehicle from rolling.
It is illegal to park in “No Parking” zones, which include areas like crosswalks, intersections, in front of driveways, within 8 feet of a fire hydrant, and within 50 feet of a railroad crossing. Colored curbs also indicate specific rules, such as stopping only for passenger loading (white) or no stopping at all (red).
