Arizona Driver Violation Point System
Arizona uses a point system where moving violations add points to your driving record. Accumulating 8-12 points in 12 months mandates Traffic Survival School; 13-17 points results in a 3-month suspension; 18-23 points leads to a 6-month suspension; and 24+ points in 36 months results in a 1-year suspension.
Points are assigned based on the severity of the violation. For example, a DUI or reckless driving adds 8 points, a hit-and-run adds 6 points, speeding adds 3 points, and most other moving violations add 2 points.
