Parking Rules
Always ensure your vehicle is parked legally and securely. When parking on a two-way street, position your car parallel to and within 12 inches of the curb, engage the parking brake, and secure the vehicle by turning off the engine. On a hill, turn your wheels appropriately: away from the curb when facing uphill, and toward the curb when facing downhill, to prevent rolling.
It is illegal to park in designated “No Parking” zones, which include areas within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, 20 feet of a crosswalk, and 30 feet of a STOP sign. Colored curbs indicate specific rules; for example, red means no stopping at any time, and blue is for accessible parking, which requires a valid placard or plate to use.
